I'm Joele, founder of The Gold List and co-owner of Helperama Incorporated, a local installation company here in the GTA.
Like many businesses, ours is seasonal. Every year, as the colder months approached, I found myself thinking about the same thing: how do I keep our team working, keep the business moving, and create steady opportunities throughout the year?
So I started looking for answers.
Over the years, I tried different lead-generation platforms and programs. I spent money bidding on jobs, chasing leads, and competing for work.
And honestly? It became exhausting.
Every year it seemed to get more expensive and more competitive, while the results seemed to get worse. I started asking myself:
Why does finding good work have to be this difficult?
That question stayed with me. Because I knew there were incredible local businesses all across the GTA, run by hardworking people who take pride in what they do. And I knew there were people looking for those businesses.
The problem was the connection. So I decided to create it.
The Gold List was born from the idea that finding a great local business shouldn't feel like a gamble, and growing a great local business shouldn't mean constantly paying to compete for the next lead.
We want to make it easier for people to discover businesses worth knowing, while giving local businesses a better way to be seen, discovered, and remembered.
This isn't just another directory. It's personal for me. I've been on the other side of the screen. I've spent the money. I've chased the leads. I've felt the frustration.
And that's exactly why I wanted to build something different. Something local. Something useful. Something built around the businesses and people that make the GTA what it is.
